Lydia + Todd | Minnesota Couples + Wedding Photographer

First off, I love being a wedding photographer. Typically, I have the pleasure of serving Utah brides, but lately photography has given me the opportunity to travel and shoot couples and weddings outside of Utah!

I first met Lydia through facebook because we have mutual connections. When she heard I was traveling to Minnesota for a photography, she knew that she had to do a couple’s session in St. Paul! As we were doing our couples photo session on a chilly fall afternoon, I got to know her and Todd better.

Todd and Lydia first met in Minnesota when they both attended Concordia, St. Paul. They had a class together called “College Transitions” which helps college freshman learn good study habits, get to know campus better, and more. At Concordia, there’s an upperclassman who helps teach the class and Todd happened to be that person for Lydia’s class! Lydia and Todd told me that they instantly connected and Lydia was “super attracted to his sense of humor and ability to make others laugh.” And boy, let me tell you what a jokester Todd was at our session!

Todd knew he wanted to get to know Lydia more since they met in that college class. He took her swing dancing, weight lifting, and they eventually started going steady. Fast forward three years, and he took Lydia to Como Park and Conservatory where he got down on one knee and popped the question. A year later they got married in Phoenix, Arizona where Lydia is originally from. They happened to get married on the hottest day of the month and it was a scorching 118 degrees! Lydia laughed as she was sharing this with me and just shrugged and said, “Good thing everything was inside!”

Lydia and Todd were such a fun couple to work with and were totally up for anything I threw at them. We laughed and ran around a beautiful park in St. Paul and you can tell they are madly in love with each other.
